About Us

Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, was founded in 1948 by the 9th ruler of the erstwhile state of Patiala, His Highness Maharajadhiraj Yadavindra Singh,. A school defined by a royal legacy and rich traditions, it has always stood out for a unique emphasis on character building and wholesome development, besides just formal education.  Today, the school is an impressive body of over 1500 students and more than 100 staff members, a testament to the school’s success over the years.  The School  Motto ,’Vidya , Vinay , Veerta’ (Wisdom , Virtue, Valour) is reflective of its vision and understanding of a complete education, At YPS, the three spheres of learning- academics, sports and co-curricular- are given proportionate importance. This approach to development is the reason the school has produced some very eminent and renowned alumni over the years, who have contributed to society in different walks of life. The School , at present , is administered by an able body of Board of Governors headed by the School patron, Captain Maharaja  Amrinder Singh (former Chief minister of Punjab ) , and Chairman , Raja Malvinder Singh. The School, at present , has Mr. Navin Kumar Dixit , an eminent educationist  , as its Headmaster.
