About Us
Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, affectionately known as MGD, was founded on 4th July 1943 by Her Highness Maharani Gayatri Devi Ji, with His Highness Sir Sawai Man Singhji of Jaipur as its Patron. With the vision and support of its distinguished Patron and Founder, the guidance of eminent Members of the Board of Governors, and the dedication of the Founder Principal, Miss Lillian G. Lutter, the School grew from a modest beginning to the stature and prestige it enjoys today as a premier centre of value-based education. Established on the lines of the British Public School pattern, MGD has always embraced modern educational practices while retaining India’s rich cultural and traditional ethos. Spread across a 26-acre campus, the School is adorned with impressive buildings, lush gardens, expansive sports fields, and a swimming pool. It houses five boarding residences—Lillian Hurst, Ashiyana, Deepshikha, Maharani Indira Devi Bhawan, and Rani Vidya Devi Bhawan—along with Nivedita House for teachers.
